Assisted Living

Assisted Living

Assisted Living is typically for elderly or disabled people who are able to get around on their own but may need help with some activities of daily living, or simply prefer the convenience of having their meals in a family-style setting and having nursing staff on call.

St. Luke Lutheran Community - North Canton provides 33 assisted living suites. Muirfield Village, licensed for residential care (assisted living), promotes independence and socialization while providing minimal assistance to the residents.

St. Luke Lutheran Community - Minerva is a 30-suite campus featuring state-of-the-art security and a convenient and charming Main Street nestled on 54 acres of calming countryside.

St. Luke Lutheran Community - Portage Lakes has added 15 suites of Assisted Living to the already existing rehabilitation and skilled nursing campus. The addition offers beautiful views of South Turkeyfoot Lake.

Assisted Living services include:
• breakfast, lunch, and dinner served daily in the dining room. Meals are prepared to meet your individual diet needs and preferences.
• minimal assistance with activities of daily living.
• administration of medication.
• socialization through planned activities and outings.
• laundry and housekeeping services.

Assisted Living rates are determined by the level of assistance with activities of daily living required. Rates do not include physician care, medication costs, diagnostic tests, laboratory fees or hospital charges. Please speak with an admissions director for further details.

St. Luke Lutheran Community is a member of the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA), Leading Age Ohio, and Lutheran Services in America (LSA).

When to Consider Assisted Living

Has your loved one recently fallen? Does your mom or dad seem lonely or depressed? Are medications being taken as prescribed? Does cooking a nutritious, balanced meal take too much time and effort? Are there new scratches or dents on the family car?
All of these questions relate to the safety of those you love most. Don't wait for a serious fall, a medication crisis, or a traffic accident before you realize your loved ones need your support. Recognize when you were young, your parents did everything they could to keep you safe. Now may be the time for you to step in and keep them safe. If the above symptoms have become a source of concern, talk with your loved ones. Tell them how much you care and reassure them that you only want the best for them. Assisted Living at St. Luke Lutheran Community - North Canton, Minerva or Portage Lakes may be your answer. With tailored services to meet each individual's needs, one can also expect 24-hour staff, medication management, planned social activities, transportation to planned activities and much more. Assisted living can provide the peace of mind you are looking for.
